Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper April Challenge

Welcome to
Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge

There are loads of challenge blogs around, but, as far as I know, there is a gap that needs to be filled:

A challenge that is always about using
Patterned Papers on cards

which is why I started

Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge

I don't know about you, but I have enough patterned papers
to keep me going for a very long time

so let's make sure we use plenty of them

The monthly challenge will always be 'anything goes' as long as you cover your card blank or other creation with patterned paper or card, using any size or shape that you wish - there are no other rules! You can add embellishments if you wish, stamp, emboss etc - but you must cover your card blank with patterned paper or card. The creation can be for any occasion.

You can leave a small border around your paper when you adhere it to the card blank if you wish, but only a small border! And your creation doesn't have to be a card, it can be any project as long as it is covered with patterned paper.

You will be able to enter as many times as you wish during the month and link with as many other challenges as allow you to do so.

You can scroll down to see the winner for the March challenge or click on the link here. It's worth checking because it might be you!

As I have an abundance of patterned paper - 12 x 12, 8 x 8, 6 x 6, A4 - I'm giving a prize each month to the randomly chosen winner. I'm willing to post anywhere in the world, so that means that anyone can enter regardless of where you live.

Before I get on to the April challenge, I can only repeat what I said in the winner's post below, because I have been so taken aback by the success of this venture so far.

'I was totally overwhelmed by the amount of entries that kept coming in during the month of March - in the end there were over 600 entries - a fantastic response. Your participation is getting better and better! I dare not expect as many entries during April, but I am hopeful! I love seeing the way that you are all using your patterned papers. I feel honoured that you have chosen to share your crafting on this little blog - thank you so much.'

It's worth checking because it might be you!

I hope you will join in again for the April challenge and that the news will spread even further so that others come and join us too.
April challenge

This is the prize for April, which will be given to the randomly chosen winner - this time it is two packs of 6" x 6" papers - Hazy Days pack of 24 sheets (6 designs) and also Bake a cake by Jennifer Ellory pack of 20 sheets (4 designs) - any of these papers would be perfect for spring or summer creations.

If your cards happen to fit the theme for the week on my CHNC challenge blog, please feel free to add there as well and also for my CHNC challenge extra blog, which is always 'anything goes as long as it's Christmas.

Remember that for this Patterned Paper challenge cards
can be for any occasion

I've made two quick cards using Hunkydory patterned card and Kanban bottles and glasses - you read more about them here on My Crafty Outlook.

The bottles and glasses have a holographic look with colours that change according to the light. It was difficult to get photos, so I had to tilt the camera:

This is the second card - there is hardly any light shining on the bottle and glass here:

But here you can see the holographic bling look of the bottle:

This is a card that I made for the Cheerful stamp pad challenge 84 (please click on the link and join in there if you can - you just have to use 3 different papers) - you can read more about it here on My Crafty Outlook:

25 April:  So many wonderful entries - please keep them coming!

I'm adding a card that I made for today's challenge on the Sweet pea stampers (it would be wonderful if you could join in there too) - you can read more about it here on My Crafty Outlook. I used up some offcuts of patterned paper that were lurking for some time:

Please become a follower of this blog and also advertise it on your own blog so that others see it and join in - you may use the logo from the sidebar. Thank you to all of you who have already become followers and have spread the news of this blog - please keep doing so.

April's challenge will end at 20:00 UK time 30 April. The randomly chosen winner will be announced at 23:00 UK time on 30 April and a new challenge will start at midnight on 1 May.

Please include a link to this blogpost within the post for your creation. Please add your link to inlinkz. If by any chance it disappears, please leave a comment with the link to your blog post and I will make sure it is added.

Please continue to spread the word about this new challenge blog - thank you. And don't forget that you must cover your creation with patterned paper or card.

It really does seem that I'm not the only one who has stacks of patterned paper that I need to use. Please come back and join me again in April.

Unfortunately, there could only be one winner and this is the result of using random.org:

Number 282: NanaConnie
who shared this lovely card:

Congratulations, NanaConnie! Please email me at hazelharris@ntlworld.com with your full name and address so that I can post your pack of patterned papers.

April's challenge is here

I look forward to seeing your entries

You will be able to enter as many times as you wish during the month and link with as many other challenges as allow you to do so.

You can scroll down to see the winner for the February challenge or click on the link here. It's worth checking because it might be you!

As I have an abundance of patterned paper - 12 x 12, 8 x 8, 6 x 6, A4 - I'm going to give a prize each month to the randomly chosen winner. I'm willing to post anywhere in the world, so that means that anyone can enter regardless of where you live.

Before I get on to the March challenge, I can only repeat what I said in the winner's post below, because I have been so taken aback by the success of this venture so far.

I was overwhelmed when so many people entered the January challenge, but I thought that perhaps it was only because it was a new blog in cyberspace and that the entries would calm down in February - not that I wanted them to!! February was a shorter month and yet there were many more entries, due to the fact that you wonderful crafters have been spreading the word and more and more people have come on board - in the end there were over 500 entries for February - a staggering result!!

I hope you will join in again for the March challenge and that the news will spread even further so that others come and join us too.

March challenge

This is the prize for March, which will be given to the randomly chosen winner - this time it is two packs of 6" x 6" papers - Paper Cellar Victorian Classic pack of 50 sheets and also Webster's pages Best Friends collection of 24 papers.

If your cards happen to fit the theme for the week on my CHNC challenge blog, please feel free to add there as well and also for my CHNC challenge extra blog, which is always 'anything goes as long as it's Christmas.

Remember that for this Patterned Paper challenge cards
can be for any occasion.

For my first card for March I've used some of the papers that are similar to those given away as the prize for the January challenge - you read more about it here on My Crafty Outlook:

Updating with another card that you can see here on My Crafty Outlook, using Raspberry Road paper. This was made featuring a Gecko Galz digital image as a design card for the Cheerful Stamp Pad challenge: anything goes (this will still be open for the next six days, so it would be good if you could join in).

And this is the card I made  for mid month inspiration on CHNC extra for March - you can read about it here:
