Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper April 2015 challenge

Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper April 2015 Challenge

A challenge that is always about using
Patterned Papers on cards

I don't know about you, but I have enough patterned papers
to keep me going for a very long time

so let's make sure we use plenty of them

A gentle reminder: Please make sure you read the following (there are no other rules) because there have been a few entries creeping in where plain card stock has been used to cover the card blank with very little evidence of much patterned paper - after all, the whole idea of this challenge blog is to use patterned paper.

The monthly challenge will always be 'anything goes' as long as you cover your card blank or other creation with patterned paper or card, using any size or shape that you wish - there are no other rules! You can add embellishments if you wish, stamp, emboss etc - but you must cover your card blank with patterned paper or card. The creation can be for any occasion.

You can leave a small border around your paper when you adhere it to the card blank if you wish, but only a small border! And your creation doesn't have to be a card, it can be any project as long as it is covered with patterned paper.

You will be able to enter as many times as you wish during the month and link with as many other challenges as allow you to do so.

As I have an abundance of patterned paper - 12 x 12, 8 x 8, 6 x 6, A4 - I'm giving a prize each month to the randomly chosen winner. I'm willing to post anywhere in the world, so that means that anyone can enter regardless of where you live.

I have so much patterned paper that I have no idea why I keep buying more! Yes, the paper I've used for this month's card is new ... but I bought two packs, so there's one for me and one to give away as the prize for this month.

This is the prize for this month's challenge

Dovecraft's Cupcake Boutique
6" x 6" Designer Paper Pack
72 sheet pack - 6 sheets of 12 designs - 150 gsm

(The winner, of course, will receive a sealed pack that hasn't been opened)

Please scroll down or click here to see the winner of Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper March challenge.

It's worth checking because it might be you!

I hope you will join in again for this new challenge and that the news will spread even further so that others come and join us too.
April 2015 challenge

If your cards happen to fit the theme for the week on my CHNC challenge blog, please feel free to add there as well and also for my CHNC challenge extra blog, which is always 'anything goes as long as it's Christmas.

Remember that for this Patterned Paper challenge
designs can be for any occasion

For my card I used two pieces of paper from my Dovecraft's Cupcake Boutique pack, stamping directly on to the peach patterned paper, heat embossing with detail black powder, and masking to include three different Kanban cupcake stamps. You can see that I left a bit of a border around my patterned paper when matting to the card blank - this is perfectly acceptable for the challenge, but please cover as much of the card as possible. More details here on My Crafty Outlook.

Adding another card that I made for Suzy Bee's Bloomin' challenge 76 (do take a look and join in if you can) - you can read about the card here on My Crafty Outlook:

I also covered these cards with patterned paper, adding large die cuts that were made with my Scan n Cut - these are for my CHNC challenge 225 (do take a look and join in if you can) - you can read about the cards here on My Crafty Outlook:

So, for my card I kept to the theme of 'time' using Docrafts Chronology papers, Papermania Urban Stamp Chronology curiosities and two of Sheena Douglass' textures stamps from sets from Crafter's Companion.  As I almost ran out of time to make anything for this challenge, I thought using these papers and stamps would be good. I have two cards to show for the beginning of the month. The first one uses a very old piece of 6 x 6 DCWV paper that created a quick card, topping it with a tag that I made ages ago and never used - you can read more about this card on My Crafty Outlook here:

For the second card I've used a couple of pieces of paper that I found in one of my offcuts box - yes, I left a border around the pale pink patterned paper, as a bit of a border is permitted. You can read more about this card here on My Crafty Outlook:

If I haven't yet got round to leaving a comment on your entry, I will do so, it's just that with Christmas and the busy-ness that it entails, I got a bit behind.

Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper October challenge

Welcome to
Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge

There are loads of challenge blogs around, but, as far as I know, there is a gap that needs to be filled:

A challenge that is always about using
Patterned Papers on cards

which is why I started

Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge

I don't know about you, but I have enough patterned papers
to keep me going for a very long time

so let's make sure we use plenty of them

Today (4 October) is World Cardmaking Day, so a perfect reason to join in with a card today!

This is the prize for this month's challenge:

a Dovecraft curiosity corner 6" x 6" designer paper pack
72 sheet pack - 6 sheets of 12 designs

This pack has been opened because I used papers to make my cards for this challenge. The winner will receive a sealed pack because while I was buying a pack for myself I bought an extra pack to give away.

Please scroll down or click here to see the winner of Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper September challenge.
It's worth checking because it might be you!

I hope you will join in again for the October challenge and that the news will spread even further so that others come and join us too.
